Since 2016, author Veronica Green has been making her mark in South Florida by publishing children’s books that cater to the growing vegan community. After adapting a completely plant based diet, Veronica quickly became passionate about sharing the benefits of this lifestyle with others.
"I write literature for a generation who will clean up the mess made before them. A generation who will look inward for peace and fight for justice... who questions the norm and finds compassionate solutions. I write literature for a generation of conscious kids" - Veronica Green
Her book series, The Adventures of Veggie Vero, is about a vegan superhero who rescues the animals and teaches children about conscious living. “Conscious living”, says Green, “is about being aware of how our daily choices affect the natural world around us and making a conscious effort to reduce our ecological footprint. Eliminating animal products from our diet is actually the quickest way to reduce that footprint.”
Veronica includes a plant based recipe at the end of each book and encourages meat-eaters to explore the plant based version of their favorite dishes. Veggie Vero and her flying-pig sidekick named Cashew live in the town of KalesVille. Together, the duo seeks out injustice and teaches the Eco-friendly ways of KalesVille to the outside world. The books are meant to empower vegan children and inspire a more compassionate generation. Veronica's most recent projects include a kid's yoga book and a rhyming book about recycling. Read more
